With a provocative title like that I assume you might want to find out why I’m voting for President Donald J. Trump this November 3, 2020. Here are some overarching principles which guide my decision:

1. Actions. Actions speak louder than words. Regardless of what you might think of President Trump’s choice of words, his occasional profanity, his verbal attacks on his opponents, words are cheap. Actions speak louder than words. Here is a list of just some of the 123 major accomplishments President Trump has made in his first four years in office:

  • Trump finalized the creation of Space Force as our 6th Military branch.
  • Under Trump’s leadership, in 2018 the U.S. surpassed Russia and Saudi Arabia to become the world&.........

We have probably all heard the word “woke” by now. It is defined by the Merriam-Webster online dictionary as being “aware of and actively attentive to important facts and issues, especially issues of racial and social injustices.” It is a relatively new slang term that has gained momentum during recent months. It represents the idea of being awakened to something that is not necessarily a new concept, but one that has not received enough attention. There have been other phrases which have addressed a similar idea of suddenly becoming aware of something that had gone unnoticed. Phrases like “Wake up and smell the coffee!” and “Hello!!” (with a sarcastic tone) have been around for awhile. The ...

The year was 1942. My Dad, Irving W. Woolf, left the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL to join the Army-Air Corps (forerunner to the United States Air Force). Like many young men his age, Dad wanted to join the military and defend our nation from the Nazis. Following basic training and technical school, he was assigned to his first duty station at Burton Wood Air Field in Warrington, England. He served faithfully at Burton Wood for 29 months. During that time Dad met my Mother, Ethel Churm at a dance in Warrington. They fell in love, married, and had loveable, little old me. Following Dad’s discharge in 1945, he moved back to Illinois to join his father’s business. Mom and I followed on a “bride ship” ...

How do we respond to riots in our major cities, police being attacked and gunned down in our streets, fires consuming hundreds of homes and thousands of acres on the west coast, and mandated masks to ward off a deadly, invisible enemy?  Is the election of a president or a congress the answer? Does science have the answer for all these problems? Can we look to academia or the media for answers? If not, what is the answer?

Jesus Christ is the answer. He is the only answer. He alone can give inner peace and calm fears. He alone can bring unity from deep divisions in our land. Until He comes to take His church out of this sin-...

Christ Jesus came into this world to die for relationships. He died that we might be reconciled to God, having a relationship with His Father and with one another. He died that His Church might be one even as He and the Father are one. In John 17:11, Christ prays for unity, the oneness of the church. He has to ask His Father for help because unity does not come naturally to sinners. Disunity does.

Unity is oneness. It is marked by being like-minded and like-hearted. It is being on the “same page” with one another. It involves setting aside personal rights and agendas for the greater good of the whole. More than uniformity, which is external sameness, or union, which is connection with others with or without unity, unity can ...
